I've had the opportunity to work as the assistant sound designer / production sound engineer & operator for Neils Lanz who worked with the William Forsythe company for many years as his sound designer. The production was in a Quadraphonic speaker setup and used a clever bit of kit called the 'Eventide Orville' that acted as the instrument in processing our cast's radio mics and shifting them round the room in a sonic 'ring', as well as some cool voice effects too.
The play is by the greatest French playwright of his generation, Bernard Marie Koltès and translated into English with multilingual actors. The character is searching for a room for the night in the pouring rain, or a friend, or a comrade, or just a connection...
